What you can do with this application

You can use this application to transfer your ATO-held unclaimed super money (USM) to either your:

• KiwiSaver scheme provider, or
• New Zealand financial institution (if you're 65 years or older or the amount is less than $200). It's important to provide the correct account details, as we may be unable to recover money paid to an incorrect account.

You must meet the eligibility conditions.

Check your KiwiSaver scheme is participating

Before you complete the application, check that your KiwiSaver scheme is on the following list of providers participating in the Trans-Tasman retirement savings portability scheme. Also check directly with them that they're participating and will accept payments of ATO-held USM.

What you need to apply

To complete the application and enable us to match your ATO-held USM and transfer your money, you will need to provide your:

• Australian tax file number (TFN) – if you don't remember your TFN, see Lost or stolen TFN
• passport number
• Australian super fund membership number
• New Zealand residential and/or postal address
• residential address when living in Australia
• if transferring to a KiwiSaver scheme, you will need the scheme provider's details to ensure your funds are deposited into the correct account
  • KiwiSaver scheme provider name
  • KiwiSaver provider's New Zealand Business Number
  • KiwiSaver scheme name
  • KiwiSaver scheme number
  • KiwiSaver scheme membership number
  • personal KiwiSaver membership number
   
• current email address so we can advise you whether your application has progressed, or if you need to re-apply with more information.

How to lodge your application

We can only accept paper applications to transfer ATO-held USM to your nominated KiwiSaver scheme.
