  • Warehouse fees

You will need to pay a licence fee immediately after your application is approved for us to grant a new (initial) customs warehouse licence. An annual licence renewal fee is also payable. Licence fees are subject to review and can change each year. They are currently:

    • new (initial) licence fee $7,000
    • annual licence renewal fee $4,000.

When a new licence comes into effect on a day other than 1 July, the fee is calculated pro rata.

If you must hold dual licences for a premise under section 105E of the Customs Act 1901 and you use imported goods in the manufacture of excisable fuel and petroleum products, the new licence fee is $1,000 with no licence renewal fee payable.

Changes to licence fees from 1 January 2016

From 1 January 2016, customs warehouse licence fees are changing:

    • A new $3,000 application fee will be payable when applying for a warehouse licence – this fee will be non-refundable if the application is unsuccessful or it is subsequently withdrawn. Note processing of your application will only commence when the $3000 application fee is received.
    • The initial licence fee when the warehouse licence is granted will be reduced from $7,000 to $4,000 – or less, based on the number of days remaining in the financial year.
    • A new variation fee of $300 will apply when requesting a change to an existing warehouse licence.

The annual licence renewal fee of $4,000 will remain the same.

These changes don't apply if the warehouse is solely used for the manufacture of excisable products using imported fuel products.
