Why we've updated the website

Our previous website platform had been in place for nearly a decade and was coming to the end of its service life.

This gave us an opportunity to deliver an improved website - making it easier for you to self‑serve and access information.

We asked key users for their input and feedback on the previous website. This information along with research, concept testing, and user consultation has informed the development of the updated ato.gov.au website.
