Interim solution for PAYG and GST quarterly instalment notices

This interim solution has been brought forward from June and will now start in March. In response to feedback from the tax profession, paper PAYG and GST quarterly instalment notices will be issued starting with the MarchJune 2021 quarterly notices. This is an interim approach while we continue to develop a digital solution that is workable for you and your clients.

Changes to STP reporting from 1 July

There are changes to Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting for small employers with closely held payees and quarterly reporting for micro employers from 1 July 2021. These changes may affect how you and your employer clients report to us. If any of your employer clients haven't started reporting through STP, encourage them to start as soon as possible.

PAYG and GST quarterly instalment notices

Missed, underpaid or paid super late?

If your clients missed the 28 January 2021 super guarantee due date or underpaid, they need to lodge a Superannuation guarantee charge statement by 1 March 2021 to avoid penalties. You can lodge the statement on their behalf in Online services for agents.
