We are authorised by the Taxation Administration Act 1953 to disclose an individual’s Tax File Number (TFN) to their nominated super fund/s to comply with administering the taxation and superannuation laws. We will use an individual’s TFN to identify them in our records.

We are also authorised by the Income Tax Assessment Act 1936 and the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 to ask for the additional information on this form, either from you or from your authorised legal representative. We use this information to help us administer the taxation and superannuation laws. If this information is not collected we cannot action the individual’s request to release excess concessional contributions from their nominated superannuation fund.

As the person authorised to complete this form, we collect information about you; if you are a tax agent, this includes your Tax agent number. The information collected will allow us to contact you if we require more information on what has been provided in this form.

Where authorised by law, we may give this information to other government departments and agencies, including:

  • Services Australia
  • State and Federal Police
  • Australian Securities & Investment Commission
