Key criteria
We are calling for expressions of interest (EOI) to become members of the Property and Construction Stakeholder Relationship Forum.
Prepare a brief statement addressing the following key criteria regarding the Property and Construction Stakeholder Relationship Forum:
- capacity and commitment to attend meetings twice yearly
- experience relevant to the group such as job title, role, skills, responsibilities and ability to actively contribute to group discussions, provide insights and suggestions
- relevance and significance of the industry sector to the group, such as the number of clients, members, size or functions of the sector your organisation represents
- the primary demographics of the clients, associates or membership your organisation represents, such as a peak industry body, professional membership, discussion group, employees/employers, sole traders, small, medium or large businesses.

About the Property and Construction Stakeholder Relationship Forum
The Property and Construction Stakeholder Relationship Forum is one of the ATO Stakeholder Relationship Groups operated by the ATO. It aims to develop and maintain ongoing relationships with business, industry representatives and key intermediaries, and to use their specialist knowledge to encourage voluntary compliance in the industry.
The group will focus on partnering with industry to share insights, build mutual trust, consult on proposed strategies and improve voluntary tax and superannuation compliance within the industry.
About membership
Membership reflects the broader community and comprises representatives who have relevant expertise and experience to actively contribute to the purpose of the forum. These representatives may include professional associations, intermediaries, industry bodies, business representatives, community organisations and academics.
Membership expectations
Members will actively contribute to the work of the group and abide by the ATO consultation framework. Expectations of the Property and Construction Stakeholder Relationship Forum members include to:
- disclose any matters that could be perceived to be, or are, conflicts of interest and take appropriate action to manage/mitigate those conflicts
- sign and adhere to an integrity declaration which includes an agreement to meet their tax, superannuation and registry obligations and demonstrate integrity
- maintain confidentiality of information provided
- actively contribute to the meeting discussion
- engage in good faith and respect the expertise and contributions of others
- bring relevant knowledge and expertise, either from own experience or by canvassing members of any organisation they represent
- provide the views of, and communicate the outcomes to any association, profession or organisation they are representing, if applicable
- meet their legislative requirements regarding their personal tax obligations
- attend meetings in person or send a proxy (with notice) if they are unable to attend
- provide presentations and a key message summary a minimum of 10 business days prior to the forum.
Successful nominees will be required to complete an integrity declaration annually.
Membership commitment
Members are generally appointed for 2 years. The time commitment required is one day for attendance at face-to-face Property and Construction Stakeholder Relationship Forum meetings twice yearly, plus pre-reading. Meetings are held in one of the following locations, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide.
Out-of-session meetings may be conducted outside formal meeting times where appropriate, but attendance is not compulsory and is subject to your availability.
Membership is expected to commence from October 2026 and will be published on ato.gov.au
Payment
Members will not be paid or reimbursed by the ATO for the cost of their time spent attending meetings or attending to related issues.
