Tax professional readiness for Payday Super

Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand outlined their involvement across the superannuation ecosystem through public practice. They discussed key topics including employer understanding, transitional arrangements and impacts.

The Tax Institute outlined its role in supporting tax professionals by using regular member communications to share Payday Super Information to help with readiness.

The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers discussed its approach to supporting members and clients with Payday Super readiness. They maintain Payday Super guidance and provide resources via their website for practical guidance, member communications, webinars and other products.

Draft Payday Super correspondence

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) provided an update on the draft correspondence products circulated to members and noted the suite remains as a draft and feedback is sought for further clarity and employer understanding.

Technical working groups

The ATO provided a SuperStream update on the ongoing engagements with digital service providers, superfunds and industry to support readiness for Payday Super with positive progress across system and implementation planning.

Updates were shared on technical enhancements and testing activities to support improved processing and employer experience from 1 July 2026. The ATO will continue to work closely with industry to provide support and implementation.

An email campaign has commenced, advising Small Business Superannuation Clearing House users of the closure effective on 1 July 2026.
