Tax professional notification of nudges to employer clients

The first year of Payday Super will have a strong focus on education and supporting employers to transition from quarterly to payday reporting. The aim is to encourage early adoption and improve understanding of the new requirements.

The ATO sought feedback on how best to communicate with Tax and BAS agents when engaging with their clients.

Payday Super readiness

An update on business readiness was provided, noting positive progress with super funds, including engagement with 15 funds. Progress on fast payment capability through the New Payments Platform is increasing. Members discussed the need for clear practical guidance to support employers.

Future planning for Payday Super consultation

Members discussed the future of the Payday Super Working Group and plans to transition to business-as-usual consultation arrangements as the program matures.
