Data analysis

Design and build solutions to solve current and future problems. You'll use data analysis and modelling techniques to address problems and support data-driven decision making.

Data engineering

Design, build and maintain systems to collect, process, and manage large volumes of data efficiently. Collaborating with data scientists and analysts, you'll ensure data pipelines are optimised for reliability, scalability, and performance, enabling robust analytics and insights.

Data management

Manage and govern the data and analytics, AI, and automation lifecycle to drive informed outcomes. Improve how the ATO sources, ingests, stores, uses, shares and archives data; embedding ethical, best practice governance across the lifecycle. You'll support trusted data and enable AI and automation driven insights to strengthen assurance and deliver effective taxpayer engagement.

Data science

Use advanced data science techniques to solve complex problems and deliver insights. You'll be responsible for leveraging data to develop and maintain scalable data science models and pipelines that drive innovation to support government and the broader community.

Business analysis

Use your analytical thinking, communication skills and curiosity to understand problems and shape solutions that make a meaningful difference. Your work will simplify the tax system, improve experiences for staff and the community, and support better, faster decision-making; helping deliver a fairer, more efficient system at scale.
