Vote for your favourite finalist in the People’s Choice Awards!
The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has named 14 finalists in the 2021 Tax, Super + You competition. Shortlisted entries include songs, stop motion animations and video skits
Now in its fourth year, the annual competition aims to encourage high school students to ‘Write it, make it, film it!’ and unleash their creativity as they explore and find new ways to explain the concepts of tax and super.
This year, the Tax, Super + You competition saw a record number of submissions by high school students. There were 261 entries received from 88 high schools across the country.
The finalists will now be assessed by the judging panel based on four measures – originality, execution, value, and relevance. The winners and their schools will have a share in the total prize pool of $7,600, with winners to be announced by the end of September.
Judging panellist and ATO Assistant Commissioner Sally Bektas said:
‘What these high school students have created for this competition is just amazing. The effort and creativity the students have shown, while at the same time learning about tax and super, is really impressive,’ Sally said.
‘I love viewing and selecting the winners but I’m also excited to see which entries you pick for our People’s Choice Awards – have a look at the entries and cast a vote for your favourite.’
Effie Zahos, one of Australia’s leading personal finance commentators, is also part of the judging panel this year.
Members of the public have until 5pm (AEST) 6 September to cast their vote for the People’s Choice Awards.
