Refreshing ATO online services and ATO app
We are refreshing our online services and ATO app to serve you better. Starting from November 2026 you will notice a cleaner, more unified look so your experience is reliable and familiar across all our online services. Our ATO app will be updated in early 2027.
We aim to provide you with a more efficient and user-friendly experience. This will be a design and navigation refresh only. All core functionality, security protocols, account data and logging in will remain the same.

Services we're refreshing
We are refreshing the following services:
- from November 2026
- Online services for agents
- Online services for business
- Online services for foreign investors
- Online services for individuals
- from January 2027
- ATO app.
Key features and functionality
While no core features will be removed, some tools may be combined or relocated to streamline your online experience. The refresh will provide a more consistent look and feel across all our ATO digital services and improve your experience when interacting with us, whether you are using a smart device, laptop or desktop computer.
Other benefits include:

- improved usability and accessibility
- uninterrupted access as your account and log-in credentials will not change.
Keeping you safe online
Always access official tax and government services directly by typing ato.gov.au/online-services or my.gov.auExternal Link into your browser rather than clicking on links in messages. Our online services and ATO app are changing in appearance but what keeps you safe stays the same. There are no changes to our security systems or data privacy policies.
What this means for you:
- no action is required
- your data is safe, unaffected and secure
- you won't need to re-download the ATO app.
Security reminder
A quick security reminder, as sometime scammers will take advantage of updates:
- Always stop and check before interacting with any communication claiming to be from the ATO.
- Don’t click on links, open attachments or download any files from suspicious emails or SMS.
- Access our online services by typing 'ato.gov.au' directly into your browser.
- We will never send an unsolicited message that directs you to a log-in page.
- Secure your access by setting up a strong myID Digital ID appExternal Link and enable multi-factor authentication.
- Download the ATO app from the App Store or Google Play. Once installed, make sure to register your device and enable push notifications so you're instantly alerted to changes in your account.
