We've released our new Vulnerability Framework

Our new Vulnerability Framework outlines how we support people experiencing vulnerability.

Published 21 October 2025

We've released our Vulnerability Framework, a principle-based guide that sets out our commitment to better support people experiencing vulnerability when engaging with the tax and super systems.

Shaped by feedback from individuals, tax professionals, partners and advocates, the framework outlines our commitment to act with empathy, communicate clearly, and connect people with the right support. We'd like to acknowledge and thank everyone who contributed - your insights helped us build a more inclusive and practical approach.

Recognising that anyone can experience vulnerability at any time, the framework provides transparency about our role and how we're embedding these principles across our services.

To help people understand what support is available, we've published new web content.

This includes:

  • the full Framework and an Easy Read summary
  • examples and information about current support options
  • details on implementation, capability building and further consultation topics.

We encourage you to share this information with your clients.

While implementing the framework will take time, we’re committed to ongoing engagement and transparency. We’ll continue consulting with the community and partners to inform implementation activities and ongoing improvements.
