    Original decline in turnover test

    You must satisfy the original decline in turnover test to be eligible for JobKeeper payments. This test only needs to be satisfied once. It does not need to be considered again if you have already enrolled for JobKeeper.

    If you are enrolling in the JobKeeper Payment scheme from 28 September 2020, you will need to satisfy the actual decline in turnover test. Although you also need to satisfy the original decline in turnover test, you will satisfy that test if you satisfy the actual decline in turnover test (except for Table A Universities).

    There is also a modified basic test for group employer labour entities.

    Generally, businesses will use the basic test, which is based on GST turnover. An alternative test has been made available for some cases where the normal comparison period is not appropriate. This may occur where your business has been operating for less than a year.
