Super guarantee on non–qualifying earnings

Members discussed contributions voluntarily paid on non-qualifying earnings and their interaction with super guarantee obligations and carry-forward rules. Public guidance will be reviewed based on feedback provided.

Australian Tax Office

Early Payday Super insights, since commencement were provided. Initial indicators showed strong qualifying earnings reporting, increased contribution volumes and low error rates across the system.

The implementation reference group continues to monitor implementation performance and emerging issues. Members broadly agreed that Payday Super had commenced positively, while noting that further issues may emerge as implementation matures.

Members highlighted the importance of continued industry collaboration, governance and system monitoring to address emerging operational, compliance, fraud and resilience risks.
