    Use the objection form below to lodge an objection on behalf of your client.

    Lodge an objection

    There are several steps to lodging an objection. You need to:

    • understand what can and can't be objected to
    • research the issue and prepare the objection.

    Download and complete the Objection form – for tax professionals (NAT 13044, PDF 1.51MB)This link will download a file. We recommend that you use a desktop or laptop device to:

    • right click on the link and select Save (link) target as (wording may vary depending on your internet browser)
      • open the form and enable JavaScript if prompted
      • complete and save the form on your computer.

    Lodge your form using Online services for agentsExternal Link by:

    • going to Reports and forms on the Practice level menu
    • selecting Lodge an objection
    • entering the required information
    • attaching your completed Objection form – for tax professionals
    • selecting the Declaration, then Submit.

    Declarations

    Objections lodged using Online services for agents do not have to be physically signed by the taxpayer or the registered agent, as they are lodged using your approved electronic signature.

    Additional information

    When looking into your objection, we may need to ask for further information to assist us to make a decision.

    If this is the case, we will send you a secure message through Practice mail, which will detail what we require.

    You will need to make sure you are set up to receive an email notificationExternal Link to advise when we have sent you a message.

    Submit additional information

    If you need to provide additional information to support an already submitted objection, use the Submit further information for lodged private ruling / objection form and existing receipt number.

    Login to Online services for agents and go to Reports and forms, then:

    • select Submit further information for lodged private ruling / objection, the form will open
    • complete the required fields
    • attach any additional evidence or supporting documents
    • select the Declaration and Submit.
