The due date for the first Public country-by-country (Public CBC) reports is fast approaching. We've already started to receive and process the first reports.
If you need to lodge a Public CBC report, register with us now, before you lodge your first report. This will help simplify the process.
Guidance and product updates
We're continually updating our Public CBC reporting web guidance and products to provide more detail on reporting obligations, including:
- guidance on who's required to report
- information to report, and how and when we'll upload the information to data.gov.auExternal Link
- further details for constitutional corporations, government-related entities and the $10 million turnover test
- refinements to lodgment and registration instructions
- updates to the registration form
- improvements to the exemption and government-related entity (GRE) exclusion forms.
GRE exclusions or deferrals
If you're seeking an exemption, GRE exclusion or deferral from Public CBC reporting, you should apply now (after registering). This will allow us sufficient time to consider and decide on your application before the first due date. We consider exemption and GRE exclusion requests on a case-by-case basis. Lodgment obligations continue to apply unless the Commissioner provides written notice of your exemption or GRE exclusion.
Public CBC reporting is a legislated requirement. Penalties may apply for an entity that doesn't lodge on time. These penalties are significant and aligned with other penalties applicable to significant global entities.
Email PublicCBC@ato.gov.au if you require further clarification on how to publish your report and meet the reporting obligations. You can also request to be included in our industry stakeholder group to receive up-to-date information.

We have tailored communication channels for medium, large and multinational businesses, to keep you up to date with updates and changes you need to know.
