You can do most of the reporting and transactions online for your not-for-profit (NFP) organisation with an Australian business number (ABN). This includes:
- lodging statements and returns, such as business activity statements (BAS), income tax or the NFP self-review return
- updating your ABN and associates details
- applying for other business registrationsExternal Link, such as tax file number (TFN), goods and services tax (GST) and pay as you go (PAYG) withholding.
Online services for business lets you manage your reporting and transactions when is most convenient for you with quick, easy, and secure access. We can also send you notifications and lodgment reminders through the system.
If your NFP isn't already using Online services for business, you can easily set up an account.
Getting set up
You'll need your NFP's associate to set up access in Online services for business. An associate is the person appointed to be responsible for your NFP in the Australian Business RegisterExternal Link (ABR) and can include a public officer, director, partner, trustee or officer bearer.
To set up access, the associate needs to:
- check the organisation's Australian Business Number (ABN) details are up to date in the Australian Business Register (ABR) and update them if not
- set up a myIDExternal Link with either a Standard or Strong identity strength, if they don't already have one set up
- link their myID to the NFPs ABN in Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM)External Link.
