The Not-for-profit Stewardship Group (NFPSG) is one of the ATO's 9 stewardship groups. It's a critical forum for the ATO's strategic discussion and collaboration with the not-for-profit (NFP) sector, supporting the continuous improvement of Australia’s taxation and superannuation systems.
Expressions of interest (EOI) are now open for new members to join the NFPSG.
We are seeking members who can provide a strong and informed voice on behalf of the NFP community, drawing on practical experience, professional expertise, and academic insight into NFP issues.
A key strength of the NFPSG is the diversity of perspectives it brings together. Representatives from all parts of the NFP sector including Indigenous NFPs and organisations working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities are encouraged to apply.
Member responsibilities include:
- helping the NFPSG co-chairs to maintain a contemporary understanding of the sector and identify emerging issues
- providing advice and insights to guide improvements
- helping us shape the administration of tax and super for NFPs
- actively contributing to the work of the group and operating in line with the ATO Consultation framework.
Members are typically appointed for a 2 year period and attend face-to-face meetings 3 times a year held at different locations around Australia.
