SECTION 6 Prospecting for petroleum  
A person commits an offence if the person:

(a) prospects for petroleum in the JPDA; and

(b) does so without the approval of the Designated Authority.

Penalty: Imprisonment for 5 years.

S 6 amended by No 61 of 2016, s 3 and Sch 2 item 74, by substituting " Penalty " for " Maximum penalty " in the penalty, effective 21 October 2016.
