SECTION 3   OBJECT OF ACT  

3    The object of this Act is to impose levies on superannuation funds and approved deposit funds for the purpose of funding financial assistance under Part 23 of the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act 1993 to certain funds that have suffered loss as a result of fraudulent conduct or theft.
