SECTION 18   AUTHORISATIONS FOR REGISTRARS  
General authorisations

18(1)    

For the purposes of paragraph 285(1)(b) of the Act, a registrar may be authorised to perform or exercise a function or power of the Tribunal under a provision of an Act listed in the following table.

18(2)    
For the purposes of paragraph 285(1)(b) of the Act, a registrar may be authorised to determine, for the purposes of section 348 of the Migration Act 1958 , whether an application to the ART for review of a reviewable migration decision or a reviewable protection decision is properly made under section 347 or 347A of the Migration Act 1958 .

18(3)    

For the purposes of paragraph 285(1)(b) of the Act, a registrar may be authorised to perform or exercise a function or power of the Tribunal under the following provisions of this instrument:

(a)    section 14 (fees and allowances);

(b)    section 25 (consequences if the Tribunal considers that the amount in dispute is not less than $ 5,000);

(c)    section 26 (consequences if the Tribunal considers that an applicant is not a small business entity).

Limited authorisations

18(4)    

For the purposes of paragraph 285(1)(b) of the Act, a registrar may be authorised to perform or exercise a function or power of the Tribunal under a provision of an Act listed in the following table if and only if the performance or exercise of the function or power relates to the performance or exercise of a function or power by the registrar under section 103 of the Act.
