S 23-15(1) amended by No 26 of 2012, s 3 and Sch 1 item 12, by substituting para (b), applicable in relation to premiums, and amounts in respect of premiums, paid on and after 1 July 2012. Para (b) formerly read:

(b) either or both of the following apply:

(i) the person has paid, or the person ' s employer has paid as a * fringe benefit on the person ' s behalf, a premium under the policy in respect of a financial year;

(ii) the person is insured under the policy (and is not a * dependent child); and

S 23-15(2) amended by No 54 of 2025, s 3 and Sch 2 item 2, by substituting " no more than 7 business days (or any other period determined by the Chief Executive Medicare under subsection (4)) " for " , in the * approved form, no more than 14 days (or any other period determined by the Chief Executive Medicare) " , effective 1 April 2026.
