An Act to amend the Social Security Act 1991 and the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986, and for other purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1   Short title

This Act may be cited as the Social Security and Veterans' Entitlements Legislation Amendment (Private Trusts and Private Companies-Integrity of Means Testing) Act 2000.

2   Commencement

This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

3   Schedule(s)

Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 4   Amendment of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1936

1   After paragraph 202(ha)

Insert:

(hb) to facilitate the administration of Part 3.18 of the Social Security Act 1991; and

(hc) to facilitate the administration of Division 11A of Part IIIB of the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986; and

Schedule 5   Amendment of the Taxation Administration Act 1953

1   Paragraph 8WA(1)(b)
