1 Name
This instrument is the Treasury Laws Amendment (Business Registries Stabilisation and Uplift) Regulations 2026.
2 Commencement
(1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

The latest of: (a) the day after this instrument is registered; and (b) the day Part 1 of Schedule 1 (about enhancing director ID requirements) to the Treasury Laws Amendment (Business Registries Stabilisation and Uplift)Act 2026 commences; and (c) the day Part 2 of Schedule 2 (about ASIC powers) to the Treasury Laws Amendment (Business Registries Stabilisation and Uplift)Act 2026 commences. However, the provisions do not commence at all if either of those Parts does not commence. |

The later of: (a) the day after this instrument is registered; and (b) the day Schedule 3 (about stabilising business registers) to the Treasury Laws Amendment (Business Registries Stabilisation and Uplift)Act 2026 commences. However, the provisions do not commence at all if the event mentioned in paragraph (b) does not occur. |

3 Authority
This instrument is made under:
(a) the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 2001; and
(b) the Business Names Registration Act 2011; and
(c) the Corporations Act 2001.
4 Schedules
Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.
Schedule 1 Personal details of certain officers
Corporations Regulations 2001
1 After paragraph 2N.2.01(1)(d)
Insert:
(da) electronic address;
2 Paragraph 2N.2.01(1)(e)
Repeal the paragraph, substitute:
(e) for each director, secretary and alternate director:
(i) the person's personal details mentioned in subsection 205B(3) of the Act; and
(ii) if the person takes advantage of paragraph 205D(1)(b) of the Act to use an alternative address - the person's usual residential address;
3 At the end of subsection 2N.2.01(1)
Add:
Note: For a person covered by subparagraph (e)(ii), the public will not be able to access the person's usual residential address (see subparagraph 1274(2)(a)(iaab) of the Act).
4 Paragraph 2N.4.01(1)(a)
Repeal the paragraph, substitute:
(a) for each director, secretary and alternate director:
(i) the person's personal details mentioned in subsection 205B(3) of the Act; and
(ii) if the person takes advantage of paragraph 205D(1)(b) of the Act to use an alternative address - the person's usual residential address;
5 At the end of subsection 2N.4.01(1)
Add:
; (s) the electronic address of the company.
Note: For a person covered by subparagraph (a)(ii), the public will not be able to access the person's usual residential address (see subparagraph 1274(2)(a)(iaac) of the Act).
6 Regulation 9.1.02
Before "For", insert "(1)".
7 Subparagraph 9.1.02(a)(vi)
Repeal the subparagraph, substitute:
(vi) for each of its directors, secretary and alternate directors - the person's personal details mentioned in subsection 205B(3) of the Act;
(via) for each of its other officers (if any) - the person's name and address;
8 Subparagraph 9.1.02(d)(vi)
Repeal the subparagraph, substitute:
(vi) for each of its directors - the person's personal details mentioned in paragraph 601CB(c) of the Act;
(via) for each of its other officers (if any) - the person's name and address;
9 Paragraph 9.1.02(e)
Omit "each company", substitute "each foreign company".
10 Subparagraph 9.1.02(e)(vi)
Repeal the subparagraph, substitute:
(vi) for each of its directors - the person's personal details mentioned in paragraph 601CE(c) of the Act;
(via) for each of its other officers (if any) - the person's name and address;
11 At the end of regulation 9.1.02
Add:
(2) For subsections 1274A(3) and (4) of the Act, information is prescribed if:
(a) the information relates to an entity that is:
(i) a company covered by paragraph (1)(a) of this regulation; or
(ii) a body covered by paragraph (1)(d) of this regulation; or
(iii) a foreign company covered by paragraph (1)(e) of this regulation; and
(b) for each such entity, the information is:
(i) for each of the entity's officers who is a director or alternate director - whether the officer has a director identification number, and if so that number; and
(ii) how many of the entity's directors and alternate directors have, and how many do not have, a director identification number; and
(c) ASIC considers it appropriate for:
(i) a person to search the information in accordance with subsection 1274A(3) of the Act; or
(ii) the information to be made available in accordance with subsection 1274A(4) of the Act.
Schedule 2 Other amendments

Omit "Commonwealth; or", substitute "Commonwealth.".

Repeal the paragraphs.
