I agree that the appeal should be dismissed. I agree that s 189(2) of the Act operates so as to preclude any claim under the Act for weekly benefits prior to 1 January 1987. I agree with Kearney J as to the meaning of the words "immediately before'' in s 65(3) of the Act.
