SECTION 8C  

8C   ABSTUDY SSL DEBT DISCHARGED BY DEATH  

Upon the death of a person who owes an ABSTUDY SSL debt to the Commonwealth, the debt is taken to have been paid.

Note:

ABSTUDY SSL debts are not provable in bankruptcy: see subsection 82(3AB) of the Bankruptcy Act 1966 .
