SECTION 1270   APPOINTMENT OF THE REGISTRAR  

1270(1)    
The Minister may, by notifiable instrument, appoint a Commonwealth body to be the Registrar.

1270(2)    
The Minister may, by notifiable instrument, appoint a Commonwealth body to be the Registrar in relation to one or more functions or powers of the Registrar.

1270(3)    
If the Commissioner of Taxation is appointed as Registrar under this section, then for the purposes of subsection 6B(6) of the Taxation Administration Act 1953 , the Commissioner ' s powers and functions include powers and functions given to the Commissioner in the Commissioner ' s capacity as that Registrar.
