Division 2A - Information-gathering powers  

SECTION 30A   REGULATOR MAY OBTAIN INFORMATION  

30A(1)    
This section applies to a person if the Regulator believes on reasonable grounds that the person has information or a document or thing that is relevant to the operation of this Act.

30A(2)    
The Regulator may, by written notice given to the person, require the person:

(a)    to give to the Regulator any such information; or

(b)    to produce to the Regulator any such document or thing.

30A(3)    
The notice must specify:

(a)    the name of the person; and

(b)    the form and manner in which the person is required to comply with the notice; and

(c)    the period (which must be at least 14 days after the notice is given to the person) within which the person is required to comply with the notice.

30A(4)    
The Regulator may, by written notice given to the person, extend the period mentioned in paragraph (3)(c) . The Regulator may extend the period even if it has expired.

30A(5)    
The Regulator may, by written notice given to the person, withdraw a notice given under subsection (2) .
