    Establishing your identity

    We are strengthening our current identity processes by asking a new series of questions that protect your personal information.  These questions are based on information the ATO holds.

    We recommend you have your tax file number (TFN) or Australian Business Number (ABN) ready when you call.

    We've also introduced a secure, fast and easy way to verify your identity over the phone called voice authentication. When you call us, you may be invited to enrol your unique voiceprint. If you choose to enrol, you can then use your voice to verify your identity for future calls.
